Former Players Association
In order to recognise the valued contribution of our former players across generations, and to preserve and enhance the MFC Family, we have developed the Former Players Association.
Committee: Les Taylor (Chair), Paul Oldrieve (Secretary), Bob Cullingford (Treasurer), David Freear, Gerry Farrell, Graham Byram, Derek Quinn, Vaughn Williams, Keith Galley & Lawrence Bland.
Supported by: Aqua Engineering Ltd & Morecambe Care Ltd
Some of the key aims and objectives of the Association include:
- The recognition of former players and their achievements.
- Recognise & mark special occasions in the club's history.
- Link the rich history of the club through to the present time.
- Enhance the "family club" ethos.
- Ensure former Shrimps players are in attendance at Club events.
- Additional features included in the matchday programme.
The Former Players Association was launched on Saturday 12th November 2022 when over 50 former players attended the pre-match meal prior to our 1st team home game with Portsmouth. The event was a great success whereby, former players shared great memories of their time at the club.
